What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being with people I love, a glass of wine, laughter, and peace of mind.

Which living person do you most admire?

Any person trying to uplift others. Anybody living their truth (and good at it.)

What is your greatest extravagance?

Good food and art supplies.

What is your current state of mind?

It's all over the place.

What is the quality you most like in a man?

Confidence

What is the quality you most like in a woman?

Confidence

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

OOF!!!

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

My husband of 15 years: who annoys me when he’s hungry but always puts me first and makes sure that I’m happy.

When and where were you happiest?

I think right now; at this point in life. I took about 10 years off from painting to take care of life. I still created, but always felt something missing. I’m happy that I’m now doing what I love. I’m healthy, able to provide for my family, and paint anything I want to paint. Sharing my art makes me happy.

Which talent would you most like to have?

Being able to draw like Kim Jung Gi

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?

My indecisiveness; sometimes I take forever to decide on something.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My 2 kids; they make me so proud (most days). LOL! But it’s amazing to see them put what you taught them to use.

If you were to die and come back as a person or a thing what would it be?

A rainbow.

Where would you most like to live?

In the wild.

What is your most treasured possession?

Family.

What is your most marked characteristic?

Kindness.

What do you most value in your friends?

Honesty.

Who are your favorite artists?

James Jean, Yuko Shimizu, and Victo Ngai. Their illustrations always tell a story and many powerful ones at that.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?

Frida Kahlo. What I admire most about her is how she paints with emotion and translates them onto the canvas. She was able to share how she felt with the world. My mind feels so overwhelmed until I put it out there into a drawing or a painting; even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else.

Who are your heroes in real life?

My parents who gave up everything they knew to give our family a chance at a better future.

What are your favorite names?

Squishy

What is your motto?

You’re enough.

From Vanity Fair: "The Proust Questionnaire has its origins in a parlor game popularized (though not devised) by Marcel Proust, the French essayist and novelist, who believed that, in answering these questions, an individual reveals his or her true nature." We've taken the original Proust Questionnaire and modified it a bit for our artists and makers so that they can share more about themselves with all of you. Check out the series to see how they all answered.
