Today's Heartmade artists is well known for his incredible paintings of Houston legends, notably former mayor Annise Parker. Tra's art is vibrant and evocative and his portraiture work makes us SWOON. Tra' believes in showing the "beauty in the everyday," which we think makes him an excellent ambassador for Houston art. I like to sweat when I paint... Houston makes that possible.
What’s your favorite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon?
Usually with my youngster... painting, making messes, tea parties and such.

The round fountain on Allen Parkway.
